Fudo does take out. You can call in your order but they do not deliver.
Definitely some of the best sushi in Greater Victoria. Friendly and attentive service as well!
Really excellent restaurant. Fish is spectacularly fresh and delicately presented. Some unusual dishes to explore, and the tempura prawns were the best I have ever eaten. Book to avoid disappointment, this place is getting popular!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I appreciate good quality sushi! I’m a huge sushi lover and love the quality sashimi from Fudo. I highly recommend their Hamachi Roll or any of their sashimi platters.
Generally well done. Above average but not exceptional. Better than many of the other food options in the area. Nice presentations on some of the specialty items.
Excellent sushi but expensive
Everything was delicious. They had me in and out so quickly. Prices are on the high side but the lunch special was reasonable priced. Will definitely come back!
Really could your Salmon and Tuna sashimi be any smaller. Your $14 price for 7 tiny pieces is the most expensive and I am from Metro Vancouver. I could have accepted the price if there was a wow factor. NOTHING WOW.
Excellent nigiri.
Amazing sushi, really good service, and the chef is funny and engaging. We've been here 5 times now since they opened and will come back.Try the gomae salad, it's one of the best I've ever had.
The sushi at Fudo is amazing! I ordered a toroko and a tempura roll. The toroko didn't last long enough to take a picture. It was delicious! The prawn in the tempura roll was still warm. Very fresh and good. I can't wait to come back here
Excellent food and service. The chef/owner was very friendly and interacted with everyone who came in, especially regulars. Great quality food with some unique items. A bit more expensive than standard, but the quality is very good. Would definitely come back.
I like the presentation of the dishes and overall the food is great. It just really puts me off that they would serve a bottom-feeding garbage fish like tilapia on a $30 sashimi plate.
The food is very fresh , great taste and service was very professional. Definitely will come back.
I can’t explain how good this place was. They used fresh ingredients out from the sea port. Meaning that fish and seafoods were not a frozen one. It was harvested and delivered to the restaurants directly. It is pricy though but i was not disappointed. Foods fish were great. Sushi was huge!!!! The taste was far better than i had from many places
Good food good service fair prices
The jalapeno hamachi roll is amazing!!!FYI - always ask for the fresh wasabi instead of the usual powder to paste like other places
Above average Japanese food for what Victoria has to offer. Small restaurant but the staff was incredibly friendly and it had a very local vibe. I thought that the cut of sashimi wasn’t exceptional but I would for sure return. Bento boxes were a great value for the $ at lunch time
Good food, staff was nice and very polite.
Best Sushi in the CRD..hands down. Wonderful service.
Good place for Japanese food. Fish is always fresh and top quality.
Exceleent value and delicious food. Great service as well, very friendly, and great atmosphere. Best sushi I have had in victoria, Highly recommend the bento boxes and maki sushi combo, 3 rolls and a miso soup for 18$. Can't beat it.
This is for sure one of the most overpriced Japanese restaurants in Victoria. Which is fine of the food is great but it is average at best. I had their lunch sashimi special. Sashimi pieces are comically small like the size of a quarter small. Don't waste your time and money. Visit Bon Sushi across the high way for great sushi for a reasonable price.
Small restaurant so I would reserve ahead of time service is pretty good and food is ok
I would definitely go to Bon Sushi in Royal Oak rather than this terrible restaurant
Some of the best sushi I've ever eaten! And that includes living in San Francisco for 10 years. My son said: "That was amazing!"California Roll was the delicious Futomaki was exceptional Dynamite Roll was extraordinaryThe downside is how expensive it is!
Hands down the best Sushi place in town!!! Chefs are always super friendly, fish is sooo fresh, and the atmosphere is amazing!!!
Been wanting to try this place since it first open but somehow it has slipped my mind until recently. The food was so good the first time that I had to come back for more the next day. The food quality is exceptional, everything tasted spot on, fresh and delicious. Might be the best teriyaki I've ever tried in city. It wasn't overwhelming sweet like all the teriyaki I've had. The staff was friendly and the sushi chef were great. The only thing that I'd have change there is the chicken karaage, it was a bit on the salty side as an appy but it was great with rice. This place was packed at lunch and dinner so if you don't want to be disappointed and get turn away or wait for an hour then make a reservation. Pricing wise, it might be a bit more expensive than other places in the city but you get what you pay for and it's good quality ingredients. This is is currently my top spot for sushi in the city.
Always amazing and fresh tasting - they rock the sushi scene in Victoria!
Nothing but the best. Fish, kitchen and attitude. You get the best of the best with Shingo.
Ordered chicken udon. Chicken was not fresh. Staffs are very friendly. Not sure to go there again.
Wonderful staff, food was absolutely amazing, this is the 2nd time visiting the island and going to this restaurant. Easy to get to, parking is good, service is amazing. Definelty recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good sushi.
This was, without question, the best Japanese food I have had in Victoria EVER! The sushi was SO FRESH, the bento box my wife has was not only beautiful but fresh and crispy, not greasy. We will be back for sure, and I will be telling everybody just how fresh and delicious it was! AMAZING! Not only that, but it was Japan Fest that day and even being as busy as they were, the food came out in good time!
Amazing food and service! This is the best Japanese restaurant in town!
Best Pandemic sushi location! Call ahead to order your sushi as many people have great taste in sushi and are ordering from here. Then you get to enjoy the sun and huge mall common area outdoor patio and water fountain. SO TASTY- spicy salmon roll, dynamite roll- or go early order you sushi and grab a drink while you wait from any of the restaurants.
Jalapeno hamachi roll was amazingAsk for the freshly made wasabi So good
Outstanding miso soup and poké to start. Special rolls also delicious. Kirin beer. Reservation required. There on a Friday night so the place was packed. Only one server so service was slower but not a deal breaker. All in all: recommend.
Very good food, friendly staff and a large menu of options
Best Japanese in town, sit at the bar if you're able!
Some of the best baked oysters I have ever tasted. Expert sushi chef too.
Nice place with pleasant service and all three big Japanese beers!
Might have just been an off meal but the food lacked any flavour. Little to no sauce on the teriyaki bowl and the rice and sauce tasted off. A lot more expensive than any other Japanese food restaurant I've been to. Service was ok but not great.
Great sushi, price is up a little, but it makes sense for it's location. Miso soup came out a little too hot. But I'll be back. Sushi is a ok.
The chef care alot.....BIGtime!!!
Great tasting, well plated sushi, and authentic atmosphere
Had dinner here and the food was ok but rather on the expensive side. Tempura was good but the Udon noodle soup had a funny flavor and my friend couldn't eat it. I had the special tuna fusion roll and the spicy salmon roll and they were good but expensive. A 3 ounce glass of wine was 9.50 way over priced. The one thing that drove us nuts was the rap music playing very loudly and it made it hard to talk. Not great dinner music that's for sure. We won't go back as there are more pleasant places to eat Japanese food in Victoria.
I ordered 2 rolls, they were not bad. The low rating is because they cost nearly $20 after tax and tip for very little food. My friend ordered the lunch bento for the same price and received way more food. Don't assume because the rolls are expensive that you are getting a lot or anything spectacular.
I tried several sushi restaurants in Vancouver Island, and this restaurant is the best yet. Sushi was great and the staff was very friendly.
Very good food. Tasty sumono salad...and price is just right. Will be back there for sure.
Great quality and a relaxed atmosphere. For the price point, you cannot beat the sushi at this gem hidden within a shopping plaza. I stumbled upon it and have been back for Hamachi Kama (Yellowtail jaw)... cooked to perfection. Ngiri and sashimi portions are generous, and their experienced Sushi Chef, Shingo Sano, takes pride in the great product they serve.November 2029 Update: Shingo decided to move on. A big loss. Quality is still good but it isn't the five star place I first encountered. Good but not, as good. The website needs to be updated to reflect this loss. Thanks
By far the best sushi I've ever had in my life. The service was phenomenal, and the sashimi melted like butter right in my mouth. If you're looking for an amazing place to go, you have to eat here.
